Dragon's Dogma II is the long-awaited sequel to the game released in 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - Dragon's Dogma. This title is set to be released on March 22nd, 2024, on ninth-generation consoles, namely PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as on PC.

Dragon's Dogma II, like the first instalment, represents the open-world action RPG genre. In both cases, both production and release are handled by Capcom studio. Do you want to know more about this epic RPG? Are you curious about what's new in Dragon's Dogma 2? Keep reading!

Old-New Story
Anyone who has played the first instalment of Dragon's Dogma remembers the plot very well: a powerful dragon rips the heart out of our character's chest - from now on, their task is to retrieve the heart, defeat the dragon, and understand what really happened… Why do we mention this?

Because the main storyline of Dragon's Dogma 2 looks very similar. The creators announced long before the premiere that the second instalment, although officially a sequel, does not continue the events of the first part. Instead, it is a retold, remade, expanded story set in an alternative reality (so anything can happen and take an entirely different turn!). Additionally, players can expect plenty of new additional side quests, such as those related to several conflicting factions.

Gameplay
Similar to the first game, here too we embody a character named Arisen, whom we create from scratch. We choose their gender, appearance, and also vocations, which are classes that influence, among others, combat style (we can use melee weapons, bows, or magic). Our main task is to find the dragon that stole the heart, but before we accomplish that, we'll have to face a series of other characters and complete countless quests.

Dragon's Dogma II is a fairly large game with an open world created in the style of classic medieval fantasy. We traverse this world accompanied by so-called Pawns, companions created by us, controlled by advanced AI, analysing our fighting style and gameplay precisely.

Interestingly, the game offers single-player mode only, but the multiplayer option allows us to lend our Pawns to other players or use the help of their companions - such exchanges result in passive experience gaining and other bonuses.

As mentioned, the game offers an open world and countless quests - main, side, and small objectives. During them, we'll have to perform typical RPG tasks, including fighting thugs or monster hunting. During these quests, we'll be able to develop our character's skills and assemble better equipment. Importantly, apart from enemies of "normal size," we'll also have to face giants, with whom the fight will be much more challenging and will sometimes rely on… climbing on them and attacking weak points.
